Kale chips
Ingredients
- 8-10 oz fresh kale ( one bunch )
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- pinches of salt
- pinches garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300F
- Thoroughly wash kale.
- Thoroughly dry the kale, using paper towels.
- Cut away the stem, and tear into bite-sized pieces.
- Spread the kale over 2 rimmed baking sheets so the pieces aren't touching.
- Drizzle the olive oil on the kale, then rub it in.
- Sprinkle the salt and garlic powder on the chips.
- Bake 10 minutes.
- Rotate the pans, and bake another 7-10 minutes, make sure they don't brown too much.
- Remove from the oven and let rest in the pan for another 3-5 minutes to crisp up even more.
Notes
Can we toss the kale in a bowl with the oil? Yeah probably, but the sheet method is going to be more thorough.
Eat immediately, 1 day tops. There's conflicting recommendations of storing in an airtight bag, or a breathable paper bag.
