Salted Caramel Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 tbsp salted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a non-stick pan, heat sugar over med heat, stirring constantly until turns brown.
- Stir in butter.
- If it separates or the sugar clumps, remove it from heat and whisk it up again until combined. It will combine, just keep whisking it up.
- After the butter is melted and not separated, cook for 1 minute stirring constantly.
- Stir in stream in cream, stop stirring, allow to boil 1 min (it will rise in pan).
- Remove from heat, and stir in salt.
Notes
Leave this at room temperature if you plan to use it today.
This can be stored in a jar in the fridge, but this will solidify and will require microwaving, or heating the jar in hot water.
You can pour this into molds, freeze, then put the bits into airtight baggies in fridge for better storage – either microwave to melt or heat on low heat in a pan.
